Wild!

Released

After wrapping up 1988 with the delightful Crackers International EP, Erasure returned a year later with Wild! an album that showcased them — to a wonderful degree — at their most emotional and contemplative as well as at their most wonderfully melodramatic. That latter element really showed up on the appropriately titled “Drama!,” one of the best and biggest singles, as well as “Star” and the hilariously camp “La Gloria,” while “Blue Savannah Song” and especially the intense, passionate “You Surround Me” showcased cooler but no less deeply felt performances.
