While a side project of dudes from offbeat stoner rockers Five Horse Johnson, Big Chief, and Don Caballero (hence their presence on Small Stone), hard-driving instrumental jams like “This Is Where The Robot Escapes His Evil Captor, Finds Raygun, Plots Revenge” eclipse a lot of their work with their main acts. German engineering may have invented this engine but these Americans give it a much-appreciated tuneup.
