Fear Fear cover
Released

Building on the strength of their self-titled debut, Working Men’s Club took a distinct leap to a next level with its follow-up Fear Fear, supercharging their sound beyond general post-punk vibes into a cold yet hook-filled industrial/electronic dance hybrid, perhaps the most distinct such entry in the UK since the halcyon days of Ladytron. Syd Minsky-Sergeant’s vocals, often intense and at times serenely restrained and distanced, provide the human contrast and anchor on fine songs like the frenetic “Widow,” the slashing jam of “Cut” and the lovely “Circumference.”
