Stay Alive

Released

Following a swathe of releases in the first half of the 2010s, Toronto one-man synth project Digits aka Alt Altman took a lengthy break but reemerged in 2023 with the engaging, low key but not low energy Stay Alive. Aside from a slightly bemusing cover of Bob Dylan‘s “The Times They Are A-Changing,” it’s a set of originals, often aimed at intentional juxtaposition – “Street Violence” builds in tempo but isn’t a sprawling thrasher by any means. An inspired guest touch comes from Joseph Shabason‘s saxophone on the nervy crunch of “Death And Desire.”
