For her third solo album, 2023’s Dream Hacker, otay:onii explores a space that’s both winsomely playful and shot through with dark industrial-dance vibes and experimentation, evident from the start as pinging echoed tones and washes of metallic echoes on “You Do / Rub” play out around her high, precisely delivered vocals. Further standouts in the general vein include the quick instrumental moodsetter “Two Rocks A Bird,”  “Light Burst,” with its Lisa Gerrard-tinged vocal sweeps, and the building emotional sweep of “Overlap.”
