The sixth album from influential funksters Kool And The Gang was the one that really kicked things off for them and produced three hit singles, ‘Funky Stuff’, ‘Jungle Boogie’ and ‘Hollywood Swinging’, all big, brash, highly-effective dance floor anthems. Aside from a handful more of tightly played, taut funk tracks, the album title track was a gorgeous nine minute-plus ambient-jazz opus to remind us of their heritage as a jazz band. Quality funk from a band leading the way in their field in 1973.
