This is the first time the brothers try out their vision over the course of an entire album. The beats are not yet fully submerged and degraded, so it sort of sounds like they’re working with an actual drum kit. Some of the keyboards are still a wee bit clear and shiny. When they get to where they’re going, the sands of time will have softened all the edges. But they’ve found a few key patches and sounds they will hang onto. We have begun the world’s funkiest film about mitosis or the longest Year in Review reel from 1973. Available, of course, only on cassette and 8-track.
