Is this Krautrock? Beefheartian outsider rock? Synth rock? Sleazy Euro techno? Trip hop? Well, in short, yes. It manages to be all of the above effortlessly. But also, none of the above matters. This is a 21st century record, made by people who just like weird music and are adept at finding the highest common factors in it all. The record has all the energy, colour and trippiness the band name and album title suggest, and it feels like it must have been an absolute blast for the duo of sound-wranglers Sasha Lewis and Rob Pemberton to jam out, and for lyricist/vocalist Agnieszka Szczotka to write her Dada-psychoanalytic fever dreams into.
