Sound of Confusion

Released

In comparison to the earlier demos that would comprise the Taking Drugs To Make Music To Take Drugs To collection, the first ‘proper’ Spacemen 3 album was not a favorite of the core members, thanks in part to a controlling and not-very-well-inclined producer. While definitely more of a starting point than an end result, it’s still a notable release in the band’s wayward discography, with covers of acts like the 13th Floor Elevators and the Stooges as well as a clutch of originals essentially laying out their initial sonic and aesthetic goals.
