With Tears for Fears reduced to just Roland Orzabal and leaving for EMI, their original label Phonogram followed up a hits compilation with Saturnine, Martial and Lunatic, an intriguing odds-and-sods collection drawing on the band’s imperial 1980s run. With Orzabal providing liner notes, it’s admittedly a release for the deeper fans, but whether it’s interesting B-sides like “Pharaohs” or “When In Love With a Blind Man,” covers of Robert Wyatt and David Bowie or even the “The Way You Are” single, famously hated by the band, there’s much to explore.
