Touré and his band recorded this live in a Woodstock studio in late 2016 and it’s a pure fire set. The heart of this recording is Touré’s guitar mixing with the ngoni as played by Abdoulaye Kone and Maffa Diabate. When they get going, they make a fierce interlocking polyphony, a genuine extrapolation on the Mali blues.
