Pulse Demon

You probably don’t like this album at all, either that or you love it. Much like Captain Beefheart’s Trout Mask Replica, it’s an album that only gives back what you put into it — it feeds off your stamina and what you take from its screeching maw is different for everyone. And much like the other hundreds, literally hundreds of recordings by Merzbow, Pulse Demon is as much an exhausting, fascinating piece of music as it is a work of art. Highly imitated, never replicated, it’s a journey not for the faint of heart. But it’s worth taking just to see how you feel on the other side.
