The final Anteloper album and Jamie Branch’s last date as a bandleader, Pink Dolphins is a trio record, with Jeff Parker added here as musician and producer, along with trumpeter Branch and drummer Jason Nazary. This is Star Wars traffic jam, non-jazz jazz, the kraut from without, the tunes to make you detune, the freedom to make you understand discipline. There is much as synth as trumpet and guitar here, and Branch even kinda singraps (well). Human and baked and well-considered and beautiful.
