Music for Quiet Moments

Released

During the COVID pandemic, guitarist Robert Fripp (founder and only consistent member of King Crimson) made a series of solo recordings using his patented “Frippertronics” process, by which he builds layers of guitar loops into a growing and deepening cloud of ambient sound. The goal was to create music that would be soothing and comforting during a stressful time, but also interesting and musically complex. He succeeded magnificently, and as the pandemic was coming to a close he released all of the recordings (which had previously been made available on YouTube) in a five-disc box set.
