Makeshift Feelgood

The third X-Press 2 album project is a much more song-based affair than their previous dance floor-targeted long-players and they enlisted an intriguing team of collaborators to help realise their musical vision. Lambchop’s Kurt Wagner lends his distinctive tones to album opener ‘Give It,’ Tim DeLaughter (The Polyphonic Spree) appears on the electro-house-pop of ‘Witchi Tai Too’ and the rock/pop/dance hybrid ‘Last Man’ features 90s popsters Kissing The Pink. It’s X-Press 2’s broadest album, taking in pop and rock flavours as well as their normal house music vibe, which helped it stand out in the mid-2000s dance/electronic milieu.
