Innate Passage

Released

Originally a stoner band with ambitions, by this point in their lofty career Massachutsetts innerspace astronauts have transitioned into one of the heftiest prog acts around. Innate Passage uses their instrumental interplay to great effect — it’s hard to imagine a more seamless blend of rocks post-, prog-, and doom. Songs like “Catastasis” sound like Yes jamming with Earthless and Pelican but the best possible version of that. It really feels like a culmination of their (equally excellent) previous albums. While they’ll undoubtedly continue to evolve, they’ve found a natural corridor for their own journey.
