Head Music

Expectations were high for Suede following Coming Up’s massive success, but unfortunately so was Brett Anderson, who spoke in later years about some ill-advised drug dabbling impacting his work on what would become Head Music, which certainly has some of his worst weird puns and lyrics. But while it wasn’t anywhere near the level of commercial impact as the previous album, Head Music does offer some interesting twists on Suede’s core approach thanks to various electronic touches, and songs like “Electricity” and “Can’t Get Enough” still crackle.
