After a long hiatus following their 1993 album, Republic, New Order broke their silence with one of their most innovative and strangest albums yet, Get Ready. The opening track “Crystal” is a smashing, almost seven minute long epic featuring soaring choirs, lush synths, melancholic piano lines, and Peter Hook’s hypnotizing bass lines front and center.  You hear New Order at their heaviest in the dense, rock bangers “Rock the Shack,” “60 Miles an Hour” and “Slow Jam,” all of them rounded out by Bernard Sumner’s yearning vocals. Get Ready also features guests like Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie and Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, adding a chaotic energy and ingenuity to the album.
