El Mal Querer

Released

Already one of the most important albums in recent memory, some of the margins of El Mal Querer will need to be adjusted by people who those really know flamenco and reggaeton and the fate of the Romani people in Barcelona, where Rosalía’s position in the Latinx omniverse fluxes daily. That said, El Mal Querer is about as saturated and as unpredictable as popular music can get. Rosalía’s power and flexibility as a singer is matched by her desire to do the strangest possible shit, and producer El Guincho is there with her, step for step. This pure burner is only thirty minutes long, partly because Rosalía planned this a whole with a narrative, in order. Which, for a future crusher, is fairly trad.
