Double Platinum

Released

Released as an early 1978 stopgap in the run-up to Kiss’s infamous four-solo-albums-at-once experiment later in the year, Double Platinum was the first of endless amounts of compilations trying to sum up the Kiss canon as such, at least in studio terms. While it lacks some notable later numbers like their disco smash “I Was Made For Loving You,” as well as containing various edits and remixes plus a rerecorded “Strutter ‘78,” it remains the best pre-online playlist summary of their most notable songs and the basis for their decades’ worth of touring since.
