Section 25 had released a DVD anthology So Far some years previous but Dirty Disco was the band’s first formal career overview reaching from their earliest singles to tracks from their full-length reunion album Part-Primitiv, and as such provides a handy summary to what had already been a wide-ranging, unusually powerful aesthetic. Framed by the rumbling, scraping punch of “Knew Noise” and its separate ‘lounge’ version, stellar tracks like “Looking From a Hilltop,” “Bad News Week,” “Haunted” and the title song all get their well deserved due.
