Dead Celebration

Released

Beginning as a spastic and screamy hardcore band in their early years, Mexicali, Mexico’s Maniqui Lazer demonstrates a new shade to their sound in Dead Celebration, embracing a darker sound while keeping their hard edge handy at all times. Opener “Unknown Crystals” delivers both ambient tones and hectic tempos, “Goat Child” rocks with mangled synths and syncopated rhythms, “Teeth Wound” brings distortion and attitude to dance-punk, and “Poison Dagger” marries metallic riffs with an evil groove.
