Context

Hotel Neon’s 2017 album, with numerical song titles in order as markers of time throughout a late night, found the group more easily settled into their vivid vision of intensely enveloping ambient trance flow, at once a perfect sense of stasis and a profoundly engaging process. With contributions from the like-minded artist Hakobune on “4:10 AM” and Lacey Tasselmyer adding subtle vocals on “6:59 AM” and “8:30 AM,” the group steadily explore separate pieces with slow cyclical senses of rhythm, snippets of found-sound adding to the sense of an extended dream.
