Complete & Unbelievable: The Otis Redding Dictionary of Soul

Released

The centrepiece of soul legend Otis Redding’s final album before his death is the ballad ‘Try A Little Tenderness,’ a truly affecting song that swells from a breeze to a hurricane and which features a career-best performance from Redding. He covers several popular songs here and also includes a handful of his own compositions. It’s either hard-rocking southern R’n’B or heart-wrenching deep soul, with the backing supplied by Booker T and the MGs with the Memphis Horns. A high point in Memphis soul.
