Chapterhouse’s second and final album was as much of a random mix as its predecessor, with various reissues sometimes muddying the waters further. Still, Blood Music’s particular form of sample-heavy electronic shoegaze also achieved a new crystalline uniformity on songs like “She’s a Vision,” “We Are the Beautiful” and “Love Forever,” a kind of neo flower power road not quite taken directly (though the Global Communication remix disc Pentamerous Metamorphosis accompanying early copies gave a sense of how their sounds would filter outwards among the more ambient sides of techno).
